Chumley’s, a longtime tavern in State College, PA, invited me to create a custom mural for the recently renovated space. Under new ownership, Chumley’s has been a staple of Penn State University life. The management wanted to pay tribute to the state, as well as important touchstones in LGBT history.
I painted the mural freehand directly on the walls in about eight hours. I hope it becomes a conversation starter and important focal point when this friendly neighborhood watering hole opens again this spring. It was such a pleasure working with these folks and being able to visit the campus for the first time.
