I’m still working on my graffiti-inspired series of paintings on paper. I collect images of graffiti on street signs in every city I visit and then use them as a basis for these paintings, sometimes changing them or combining different references.
While the end pieces tend be abstract because I like to focus on a part of the whole, I tend to think of them as highly realistic work.
I’m hoping by seeing these that more people take notice of the details around them, whether it’s street art, lines in the city, stickers stuck to signs and poles, or even just scars on bricks and pavements. These are the details that really inspire me as an artist.
