I created a triptych for a client that celebrates the architecture of downtown Philadelphia. She was interested in a multi-part piece that would somehow focus on Philly’s City Hall, as well as the surrounding area. I went to work drawing the skyline freehand without the use of straight edges. My goal was to create a more expressionistic impression of the architecture without it being a formal architectural drawing. By breaking it into three parts I was able to create movement and different focal points with simple lines. I was happy to install the finished work personally.
