This was a first for me. I was asked to paint a book, specifically the “Big Book,” AA’s very famous manual to sobriety. The client who special ordered the art wanted to give the finished piece to a friend who is celebrating five years of sobriety. So I spent some time researching the philosophy of AA and the subsequent words and symbols associated with the program and painted the book by hand in an energetic, celebratory street art style.
