COLLAB

Philly photographer Jonene Nelson and I have started collaborating on new works. Jonene, who has spent many years chronicling the hip hop community in both Philly and New York, has offered a few of her beautiful prints for me to draw on with my word art.

We’re starting out with a few pieces (the first one I posted sold in a few minutes) and plan to expand into some portraits and even larger sizes. Much of her work focuses on arts and music, though she has also captured powerful images from protests and everyday life.

You can find these new works at Jonene’s gallery Noname Gallery in Chestnut Hill where you can also see work by well-known and emerging artists from all over the country. I regularly showcase my vessels and other upcycled work. I also find myself collecting artists she shows.

It’s been a blast working with her for the past year-plus. She has created such an important social and art hub in the region. Don’t miss the First Friday openings.
