For most of June I’m spending time in Martha’s Vineyard and Cape Cod working on art projects. The time on the Vineyard has been a way for me to plan my October solo exhibition and really recharge. I’ve been spending some time drafting new ideas for work, as well as reflecting on projects I’ve accomplished creatively this year, like being shown in New York City, as well as what I still want to do creatively and commercially.
The next part of the trip takes me to Provincetown where I’m painting a mural for some private collectors. I’m also eager to meet gallery owners and discuss possible exhibition opportunities in the next few seasons.
As an artist who spends many hours in her studio, being able to get away, read, write and think deeply about my work has been an important time for me. I definitely miss the city, but the fresh salt air and solitary days have truly provided much-needed time to reflect and rest.
I’m also happy to report that I’ve been offered a similar opportunity for six weeks in London in December/January.
I’m grateful for the people who support these amazing opportunities. Some days are a struggle, but I truly love what I do.
