I’m working on a series of paintings and painted objects that memorialize and celebrate gay male culture in the 1970s and 80s, both the liberation and decadence and the shock and grief of the AIDS crisis. These pieces include urns and plates, as well as reclaimed wood planks and slats (references to the piers in NYC and the boardwalks of Fire Island) with references to sex, life, death and celebrity.
Ultimately I would like to exhibit the works in total in New York City.
